Cath Kidston Bonanza!

Paid a visit to the Cath Kidston factory shop at St Neots last week.  Of course I couldn't walk away without a purchase (the prices there were a bit more realistic in my opinion)!

As soon as I saw this bag I knew it reminded me of something.

When I got  home it struck me that it wasn't unlike the little vintage paisley pattern fabric apron thingy that I found a few weeks ago.  Of course the fabric is slightly faded, but they are not dissimilar.

Then my son and daughter in law got me this Cath Kidston
"stitch!"

book for my birthday.

I've already earmarked my first project.  I think that this little cottage is so cute!

Not sure whether to go with tapestry or try it in cross stitch.  Decisions, decisions .....!

Brilliant Bristol

Bristol - what a great city!

I suppose because it is a port with a fabulous maritime and trading history like Greenock, I felt quite at home there. when Hubby and I visited last week.

One of my favourite things to do when I visit a new city is to take the open top. hop on, hop off bus tour so that I can get my bearings and learn a little of the local history - usually from someone who actually lives there.  Bristol's open top bus tour was great!

The old dock area is now full of bars and restaurants and was wonderful to wander round in the evening.

Isambard Kingdom Brunel's amazing iron steamship the "ss Great Britain", built in Bristol and launched in 1843, is one of the attractions, but we didn't have time to see the ship close up.

Still ............ there's always next time!

Floral Phoenix

I have a confession to make -
it has been about three weeks since I was in a charity shop!

The notion had worn off, and it is a relief to know that I'm not so addicted!  But I struck lucky on my first visit for ages.  I found this sweet little vintage Phoenix china plate with lovely lilac flowers.

Unfortunately the weather was so dull when I tried to photograph it, it really isn't showing up as pretty as it really is.

I've enhanced it in this picture to give you a better idea of its loveliness.

Quite a bargain too (very unusual these days)!  Only 75p!  Lucky me!

Hope you have found some great things this week.  Popping over to Flea Market Finds to see what's occurring!

Just me and the Rabbits!

I paid another visit to Greenock Cemetery recently.

There's something about the place which just sets my imagination off on its travels.

Who were these people?

Why did they choose the imagery which decorates the graves of their loved ones?  Was it something to do with the trades they were involved in?  Being a port town, there are a lot of ship and anchor sculptures.

Think it's the gravestone that's squinty, not my photo!
I wasn't the only visitor!
