Charity Shopping - Vintage Tuscan Plates
I found these lovely little vintage pink side plates in a local
charity shop today.
They are by Tuscan and I think, from the backstamp, that
they were produced sometime after 1947.
They also have the initials M. W. T. on them - does anyone know what
that means?
They go so well with all the soft pastel colours on my
dresser and I'm really looking forward to using them when I have friends round
for coffee.
Hope you were lucky charity shopping this weekend.
Come on over to visit Max at Blackbird Has Spoken and see
what all the other Op Shop Show Offs have found!
Also joining with Lakota for TaDa! Tuesday - come on over
and have a look!
Love, Liz

such sweet little plates!
These are lovely - imagine what they would have been like with a little teapot and some cups and saucers - very ladylike! Not sure about M.W.T. though - would that be the designer? x Jane
Such delicate flowers with soft shades of color, just beautiful.
They look so delicate.

what beautiful plates...with handpainted decorations too...i imagine that the person who painted them initialed them x x lovely find c c
Your plates are really pretty and delicate.I have some Tuscan china also with the same back stamp. I may be wrong, but the initials look like they've been added on after, not at the time of manufacture.I'm sure you'll enjoy using them anyway.

Lovely delicate colours. A piece of shortbread would set them off nicely!
Lovely and with such a delicate pattern. I was at two flea markets at the weekend.
Thank you for sharing.
They are so pretty - what a lovely precious find!

Mmmmm! How gorgeous are these!
Oh, those plates are gorgeous!!
Oh, these plates are so dainty! I picked up a set of 4 dessert plates this week too ... I just can't resist a nice set of cheery plates. I force my family to use them (even though they think I'm being silly), but it just adds a little something special to even a simple cookie! Wendy
Beautiful places with such soft delicate clours.

hi liz, what a pretty find.
i agree with the commenter above who said they would be the initials of the person who painted the plates, i think it was a quality control thing. looking at your plates i'd say she or he kept their job and went on to paint many more!'
great to have you linking up again this week x
Such pretty, handpainted plates, what a lovely find! x
Love this op shop show off. Your plates are gorgeous. I would have snapped those up too! xo
They are very pretty, so delicate. I also think the initials would be the person at the factory who did the painting. xxxx
These are really pretty, handpainted china is lovely. x
yep - they're the initial of the person who painted them... and what a lovely job they did too! they're very pretty. They were made between 1947 and 1961 x
