Filling A Vintage Suitcase

Once again I have been given a fabulous gift from a lovely friend!  Knowing my love for all things vintage, she brought me a vintage suitcase which belonged to her parents.  Now the big question - what to put in it?

I decided that it could live in my guest bedroom so - how about some soft toys that I love.

Or what about showing off my crochet baby blankets - great if I ever get to sell at a vintage or craft fair.

But perhaps best of all - an cosy extra blanket and some magazines.  It is perfect for my latest copies of Vintage Life.

Not sure whether I should replace the lining - will have to give that some thought.  Have a great weekend.

Love, Liz

Jon would be turning that case into a boombox, he's already snaffled mine! x

I don't mind old cases being a bit battered, it's evidence of a life well lived! it's a lovely thing, perfect for displaying anything you choose. xxx

Such great ideas. i have 3 that I don't really have room to display in this house. They used to sit on top of a wardrobe in the last house. Maybe if we ever get round to this loft extension... xx

I love the look of the cozy blankets inside the case. My parents had many ancient suitcases & even a steamer trunk from my dad's journey from England to Canada. Unfortunately, they smelled horrific, and although I tried to air them, after a year I gave up and carted them all off to goodwill. Hopefully someone else would be able to air them better. Wendy

Lots of people here are making these into tables-just a thought, then you could look at it every time you walked into your loungeroom.xx.

It looks well loved.

Isn't it wonderful that so many good things that might once have been consigned to landfill are finding new homes in our thrifty age.
