You Light Up My Life - well, one corner of it!

I love my vintage china cabinet - the one I repainted a while ago, but it was looking quite dull in its little corner of the room.  So I decided to put in a string of lights (left over from Christmas).

I am so pleased with the result.

Everything looks much nicer - the lights shine on the china making lovely shiny highlights.

Brightens up the whole room.

I've just found your blog and am enjoying having a read through your back posts. I love the fairy lights in your cabinet. This is an inspired idea and so much nicer than the formally lit cabinets which look like shop displays and not something warm and pretty like this.

Absolutely this is lovely! I've put some little lights in various spots of mine and at Christmas time I have a group of three white evergreens from Dept #56 that changed colors, and brightens up things, but your idea of the entire strand of lights across, is wonderful, and I have to try it too!

Liz, you are so right! The little lights certainly brighten up your cabinet and had such a nice, soft glow to your dishes and the interior. I hope you have a happy week. xo

Hello, Liz!!

Pleasure to meet you!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

I have used lights like this in several of my hutches and cupboards and I bought a bunch of the micro mini LED battery operated strings of lights and they work great for this use because you do not need to plug them in!!

Hugs,
Deb

Lovely idea Liz. It looks so pretty. My daughter is in the process of painting up an old display cabinet for her bedroom so I might suggest the idea to her.
