Doune Castle - Outlander

I've just realised that Doune Castle was used in the filming of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series.  (I know, slow!!!!)

I wrote a blog post (click to read) about my visit to the castle in 2012.

Thought you might like to see some photographs in advance of the TV series.

It is a wonderful, historic and beautiful location.

Really looking forward to this TV show - although I have no idea when it will be aired in Scotland.

Love, Liz

I love the gargoyle, too!
Wouldn't that be a great location for our next tartan cocktail hat shoot? x

I visited Doune as a teen, it still remains my favorite castle in Scotland, I can't find the words to explain why but I felt very very peaceful there. It's a gorgeous little town too.

The gargoyle always scared me to look at them when I was young, even still now that I am old. LOL

It really looks like an amazing castle. Now I want to watch the series only to see the set!
