Stitching & Stuff

I've been finishing off a few projects -

Detecting a theme here?

This lovely "Blighty Heart" as I call it is from a pattern in Cross Stitcher Home Style magazine which is full of amazing projects, I especially love these cowboys and think they will be next on my cross stitch agenda.

Also, at long last finished this cutie from Country Cross Stitching magazine (an old edition from the 90s).

Isn't it a great feeling when you finish a few things off?  Needless to say, there are a few more on the go!

I've really been enjoying the Danish/Swedish drama The Bridge  which is being shown on BBC4 on Saturday evenings.  I like the fact that it is something different and love the Scandinavian interiors when they go inside someone's home (how trivial is that?).  I've just downloaded the gorgeous haunting theme tune which is "Hollow Talk" by Choir of Young Believers.  The only problem with this programme is the subtitles - I can't knit/crochet/stitch and watch at the same time - but it is well worth it!

Talking about TV - me and bf were out and about on Friday and just happened to pass by where they were filming Waterloo Road (well, I do just live nearby) and as I just happened to have my camera with me (as all bloggers do), I got a few shots of the action!  Here's one of the Heidy (head teacher).  They have been out and about filming all over the area - I suppose we'll get used to it eventually!

Have a great week.

Love, Liz

I love that little heart union jack cross stitch - how cute. I got far too excited when I first spotted the Cross Stitcher magazine in the shops in the US even though they are a month plus behind and the last magazine can't be found anywhere. I still love to buy it though - just makes my pile of things to sew huge though.

Love your patriotic creations - and the cowboys will look great too, I'm sure. The heart is so sweet! My brother was raving about The Bridge too - might have to find some concentration for the subtitles and watch it on catch-up!

Nice to see that the entire Waterloo Road crew didn't get wiped out by the out-of-control lorry! I was hoping for an end of season without any wholesale slaughter, as usually happens, but it was obviously too much to hope for! I wonder who didn't make it!

I love your cross stitch! I enjoy it too, but I have a bad habit of starting several projects and then not getting anything finished! I've been making things for a new grandson due to arrive in August, but hope to get back to cross stitching when those are done.

Two fab items - I love red/white/blue as a colourway - timeless and cheerful.

I like the look of the cowboy embroidery - do you think you'll give it a go? I'm hoping to watch The Bridge but might have to wait for a dubbed dvd to come out - I just can't sit in front of the TV and only watch, I have to occupy my hands too, like you!

Dear Liz, I like your tea cozy so much. But this time it is so hard for me to make it. Yours is wonderful. When I saw your cross stitch works, I always decide to learn cross stitch. You are proffessional..:)) Best sunny days..

I don't have the patience for cross stitch. I love the union jack heart and tea cosy. The queen would be proud!
