A Right Royal Mug!

I found this right royal mug in a charity shop a few weeks ago, but thought I'd keep it till this weekend.

It commemorates the Coronation of the Queen in 1953, but hey, what's a year between friends!

Love the heraldic beasts - wonder why they are sticking their tongues are out - an act of royal cheek, if you ask me.

Found out that the unicorn is chained because a free unicorn was deemed a dangerous beast, so it is shown with chains around it - that is the Scottish bit!

Love the blue and white spotted background, very CK!

Looking forward to seeing what everyone else has found at Flea Market Finds.
Have a lovely Jubilee weekend!

Love, Liz

Yes, I am wanting to watch what is going on across the pond, but not too much coverage. Enjoy the festivities!

My parents have loads of royal memorabilia mugs and tea pots and the like! I've come across a far few in antique malls here in the states and they go for a good price!

Oh, that is funny about their tongues sticking out! We should check to see if all the royal coat of arms are like that. :-) I need to find myself a Queen Elizabeth teacup! I've seen a few online, but they probably went sky-high after the Jubilee, so I should probably wait a month or two til prices settle back down to normal.

Great find. A while ago I visited Liberty in London and they had vintage royal mugs made into pin cushions selling for about £30!
