Crochet and Gifts

Isn't it a great feeling when you are about to embark on a new project!  I love choosing the yarn - deciding on which shades to use.

Perhaps I should finish this little project first, though!

I've been a bit under the weather this week with a nasty bug, but to cheer myself up I decided to use up some of my odds of yarn to make a really colourful little blanket.  It has been weirdly satisfying - just choosing random colours and enjoying the mix.

But what really made my week was the arrival of a parcel from Second Hand Rose - I won her fabulous giveaway!!!!

Everything was beautifully wrapped in pink tissue with a lovely card and tag.  Look at this lovely apron with a crown design - how regal shall I be doing the dishes!  Perhaps even hubby will wear it!

Of course there were a couple of cute hedgehogs, Rose is passionate about the little fellows!  Read her blog for some important reminders about the little creatures on bonfire night!

There was also some gorgeous vintage linen, and this fabulous old book of 100 views of Ilfracombe, published by W H Smith & Son of 1a High Street, Ilfracombe.  The photographs inside are fabulous.  Wonder if the shop is still there?

Rose, thank you so much I love absolutely everything!

Have a great weekend one and all.

Love, Liz

I was just perusing some yarn online last night. Just looking, just looking but ideas for new projects (blankets) just keep coming and of course you have to start them sometime, even if it is before the last project is finished! Your little colourful squares look just like mine.
Love from Mum

Totally understand the need to get some colours out and start a new project. Well done for winning the giveaway, always lovely to receive a surprise in the post, especially one a sweet as this! My aunty Janet and uncle Michael lived in Ilfracoombe for a few years, we loved going to visit as it is proper old fashioned seaside town.Pretty sure the shop was still there then, about 10 years ago. Sorry you have been poorly, and hope you are on the mend.
