Tupperware Pickled Onion Thingy!

Isn't it strange that you stop noticing things that you use on a weekly basis?!

I've had this Tupperware pickled onion thingy since I went to my first Tupperware Party back sometime in the early 80s.  It still gets used because I absolutely love pickled onions!

Its just made me realise how many other bits and pieces of Tupperware from then that  I actually have in my kitchen!

Anyone else love pickled onions?  Especially with a chunk of cheese?

I've decided to go with a pretty shade of blue for my crochet.  Thanks to everyone who gave advice.

Love, Liz

I never knew such things for pickled onions existed!

I always pickle onions/shallots ready for Christmas to have with cold cuts. One of those would be really useful, I have never seen a plastic one before only a metal one as used in chip shops.

Love that shade of blue, and I had not seen a pickled onion thingy before.

Love a pickled onion but have never seen a scooper designed especially for them! I don't own a single piece of Tupperware - I feel suitably ashamed... xxxx

Yes I love pickled onions too especially with fish, chips & peas! I have lots of tupperware from yonks ago too. I wouldn't be without my rice cooker and a plastic scoop spoon thingy to get boiled eggs out of the saucepan. Lovely choice of blue to finish off your blanket.

Tupperware is just fab! I remember those groovy citrus colours from things we had in our kitchen, as well as the less vibrant earlier colours. I made some pickled eggs recently, after having them for the first time for tea with our neighbours and loving them! This would work well for them, too.

One thing about Tupperware . . .it may cost more, but as long as you keep it away from frames or hot stove burners . . it lasts forever :)
I love the colors in your yarn, it is going to be beautiful.
Come put your name in the hat for my latest Give-A-Way.

Do you know that by accident, not design, I don't think that I have a single piece of genuine Tupperware in our house! How strange is that. I feel as though I am missing out now that I have just realised it!! I do love pickled onions, but I'm not sure that we have any of those right now either!! You would not be a happy visitor here I fear! xx

Yip, love pickled onions, I think I need one of those as I always have a nightmare getting them out of the jar, lol :) x

Never been a fan of pickled onions, but you go girl!
My Tupperware guilty pleasure is their plastic spoons that you get when they play the intro games. I love them. And apparently so do members of the family who nick 'em if they get the chance!
Love your blue yarn choice. It should come up a treat. :)

I love pickled onions, especially home made ones. I have to steel myself to make them though - the watering eyes as I peel 3 lb, the stink as they brine for a day (best outside) and the vinegary aroma that lasts for days as I put together the pickling syrup. Hmm wouldn't bother if they weren't so good !

I have yet to find a pickled onion grabber though. Might be handy for olives too.

Hi Liz
Yes, I too have a pickled onion thingy identical to yours! It has seen use over the years, but not for a while as I'd forgotten it - looks like I'll have to 'rediscover it' soon ;o)
