Gorgeous Gainsborough Tea Time

I was given this lovely little vintage tea set recently.

It is by Gainsborough and has the design mark D77 with the familiar logo of a Gainsborough lady.

Very pretty florals - look at the lily of the valley at the back.

A lovely addition to my collection and perfect for afternoon tea on these cold, winter days!

Joining with Rose Chintz Cottage for Tea Time Tuesday.

Love, Liz

Thanks for dropping by my tea post Liz. It's nice of you to join us for the tea gathering and you've chosen a couple of pretty floral teacups to share.

I'm so glad you stopped by my blog. It gave me a chance to come visit you. Both my husband and I are 1/2 or more Scottish, and I've been there twice. Not for a long time though. I will be following you now.

Liz, I just found your blog, after seeing your comments on Christine's Home and Travel Adventures. I was thrilled to see you were from Scotland. I have Cameron ancestors and love your country. I have visited, but not yet to the Highlands and hope to return some day. Enjoyed seeing your beautiful teacups!

Your tea will taste even more delicious and refreshing in these lovely cups! What blend do you like? I am an Earl Grey or peppermint girl myself, with the odd lapsang suchong (with milk) as a treat.

Ooh you can't beat a delicate bone china cup and saucer for your afternoon tea. I've a feeling that I might have a couple of the same cups and saucers as yours. I love that we can now have an eclectic look to our tea sets with mismatching china :)
