Vintage cups and saucers

Joining up with Five on Friday for the first time this week and I'll give you one guess as to what I'm sharing!  Five lovely vintage cups and saucers - most of which were bought in local charity shops.
The first is one of my all time favourites - a Royal Vale red and white spotted set.

The second is another Royal Vale set, this time it has a lovely delicate fern and flower pattern.

Next is a lovely floral set by Sutherland of Staffordshire, England.

My fourth is another favourite - this Imperial China green and gold beauty!

Finally this gorgeous set is a Roslyn China set with a lovely soft floral pattern.

It is really difficult for me to pick out particular favourites - I like them all - for slightly different reasons.  They are just a part of my collection.
Which one is your favourite?

Pop over and see what other five things folk are sharing today at Five on Friday.

Love, Liz

Oh, they are all so beautiful! On every photo I thought "this is my favourite"... :) Perhaps my favourite would be the first one, with its combination of gold and dark red.
Thank you for sharing these beauties and have a great weekend!

Hello Liz. It's good to meet you through Amy's Five on Friday. Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I like the name of your blog. It's perfect for you and makes me feel hungry as I enjoy both shortbread and ginger! You have such a pretty collection of vintage cups and saucers. I must be going into the wrong charity and vintage shops as I've looked and looked and haven't found many, although I treasure the complete tea sets inherited from my mother. My favourite is the green and gold one in the middle of your last photo.

I love all your pretty cups and saucers but I will choose as my favourite the flowery one by Roslyn China as the site of the old factory is about a 20 minute walk from where I live - the site is close to the Gladstone Pottery Museum:)

I loved them all, I am a great fan of cups/saucers and love to use them for afternoon tea. If pushed I would probably go with the red spotty one, it seemed to talk to me.

Thank goodness I don't live anywhere near a charity or secondhand shop.
If I had to choose a favourite, the green one. Or maybe the last one, or...
Lovely sets by the way. All of them. xxx...x

What pretty pieces! The spotty one and the green are my favourites! The spotty one would be lovely to use all the time wouldn't it. Thank you for joining Five On Friday, happy weekend! xx

It's difficult to choose isn't it. I liked the spotty one first of all. The green one is the only one that looks familiar though despite me watching lots of antiques programmes! A cup and saucer seems so genteel! Have fun :-)

Each one is lovely . . .
I like best . . .
The Royal Vale set with the delicate fern and flower pattern.
Very nice . . .

Liz, perhaps from visiting my site, you'll know that I am also a fan of antique and vintage china. How I wish that charity shops over here would provide treasures such as you've shown here. It's the variety that charms me, with different eras designs, shapes and colors. Very difficult to pick a favorite.

All of them are gorgeous. I wonder do you ever use them. I have some delicate bone china but I'm always afraid to use them for tea as they are so old..what do you think?

They are all beautiful. Anything with yellow in it appeals to me, so I think I'd pick the last set as my favourite. What a lovely collection to own.

seriously, that polka dot one is so stinking cute!

The fern and flower gets my vote, but they are all beautiful, I do like a cup and saucer to drink my tea from

They are all lovely. I especially like the Sutherland one. You're so fortunate to be able to find these treasures. So many of theses teacups are now made in China without the exquisite detail of the English pieces. Enjoy your weekend, Pat

They're all so pretty and delicate, but my favorite has to be the Imperial China.

All lovely but my favourites are the hand painted floral design & the Imperial China green and gold design.
