Making it up as I go along!

I wanted to make a cross stitch picture that was relevant to me.  I love all the American patriotic cross stitch patterns that are available and the pride stitchers take in making them up.  However, I couldn't find a Scottish pattern that I liked, so I just had to make it up.  This is what I came up with -

Bonnie Scotland - land of my heart forever!

I made a pattern for a typical Scottish historic tower house and just added the words, a Scottish flag, a thistle and some hearts.

I'm really pleased with the result.  I think I'm going to back it with the thistle fabric you can see in the photograph.

Hope you like it.

Love, Liz

I love it. I have done a couple of projects with four parts giving the whole UK. I agree, there are a lot of American patriotic pieces but little for those of us with UK roots :)

I guess we are lacking designers for UK related stitching.
I do like to see the American patriotic ones but they are not really relevant to us in the UK.
Love that you designed your own.

I love that you made up your own design, Liz, and your cross stitch is lovely too. I can only see your first photo, though. Not sure if the problem is at your end or mine, but I'm having the same problem on my PC and mobile. Just wanted to let you know in case something went wrong from your side, but none of your other commenters is making any mention of a problem ... xxx
