Grannies and nostalgia
I suppose it is the time of year for remembering. Thoughts turn to times past, big family get-togethers and happy childhood Christmas fun. I've been thinking about these women often over the last few days.
My Mother and her mother, my lovely Granny - obviously on a sunny day out.
My Mother and her mother in law, my other Granny.
Happy memories and sad memories - treasured forever. Do you get all nostalgic at this time of year?

Thanks goodness that's over!
Oh well, that's it for another year - thank goodness! (Always feel a awful saying that, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks it!)
Got a wonderful new craft light among lots of other things - so Santa really does read blogs!
Hope you had a great time.

Everyone needs a travel rug
I came across this fabulous book recently.
It's for the annual Braemar Gathering usually attended by Her Majesty the Queen and dates from 1952. Isn't this title page just amazing!
It has some fabulous full page advertisements inside, including this one for Glen Cree mohair travel rugs. What a fine bell-boy carrying all the luggage! I'm sure I'll be sharing so much more of this book over the next few weeks.

Love pom poms!
Don't you just love pom poms?! They seem to be everywhere at the moment!
I always put one or two on top of my tea cosies - they just add an extra little bit of cosieness. I enjoyed knitting this tea cosy in winter white and a lovely soft, dusky pink.
Because the yarn is stretched across at the back, it gives an extra layer for insulation, keeping your teapot and its contents lovely and warm!
Wouldn't it be great to keep your mulled wine nice and warm?
Have a lovely Sunday.

Does Santa Read Blogs?
Do you think Santa reads blogs? I hope so!
It is so dark and dismal here in Greenock that I can't get on with my cross stitch!
I think that what I really need is one of those craft lights - you know, the ones with a daylight bulb and are lovely and bright. I've been reasonably good all year ..... well, most part of it anyway! So perhaps Santa will bring me a much needed pressie!
I tell you what - the old eyesight isn't as good as it used to be - sewing white on white is just a nightmare! Having a look at these photos has shown me a couple of missed stitches - oh no! (Perhaps I need to add a magnifying glass to my list as well!!!!)

New Things
Hi everyone!
Hope you like my new blog header.
I've been meaning to change things for a while, but only just getting around to it - typical!
Sorry that I've not been visiting all your lovely blogs recently, but hopefully, things will get back to normal soon.
I've also got a new email address (teacosyblog{at}gmail.com) if you want to get in touch - please do!
Been knitting like a crazy woman, so got lots of tea cosies to show you soon.
