Love the tartan and white heather around the sides.
Opened up ....
Lots of works in progress - not sure what this is, but I'm
sure some of you lovely ladies will be able to enlighten me - is this tatting
or crochet? Seems to be raised on one
side.
Think that this may have been an attempt at this
pattern. Love the colour!
Look how tiny this crochet hook is!
Don't these ladies look lovely?
What a joy this gift has been.
Love, Liz

The white piece is filet crochet, the green is of course the tatting. What a delightful tin.
I have never heard of Tatting i will have to google it now. I agree a wonderful tim of goodies, dee x
What a find! I love a surprise.
The first thing out of the tin was definitely crochet, but the rest is definitely tatting, which I would be terrified to attempt.
I do hope you enjoy your wonderful surprise.
Cheers
Oh Liz what a find, not only a wonderful tin but what's inside, I think it's both crochet and what we call frivolité...
Lovely..

I love finding old tins or sewing boxes/baskets with some of their original contents still in. A little connection with the previous owner, I like that. Great tin too. xx
Such beautiful, delicate work! My guess is crochet as it has a hook. I think tatting actually uses a small loom of somekind. I could be wrong though. Love the biscuit tin! It reminds me of the one my mother used as a sewing box.
We've certainly had a lot of fun.
Love from Mum

It would be fun to learn tatting.
What a lovely tin! And lovely goodies inside!

This is a beauty! I collect biscuit tins too. Will you restore it in any way?
Sorry I can't help you with the gorgeous WIP that was inside. I've never seen tatting before.

I love it that the bread bin has given you so many lovely things! Still more to come?
Pandora's breadbin just keeps giving!! That tin is wonderful and the patterns inside are wonderful. I love those collars xx
The tin is so nice! and a little treasure trove of goodies inside! nice surprise x
What a nice tin fun of goodies :) The old patterns are lovely! Elisabeth xx
Love the tin, a treasure on its own. The crochet work is lovely as is the tatting. I have tried it but no luck at all. I suspect it is something to be learned from someone else, not self taught. Maybe the shuttle will show up yet in Pandora's box!
What a sweet tin, and I adore all the pretties inside! I think it maybe filet crochet using those teeny hooks!! Happy Weekend! xo Heather
Lovely tin - old tins are so much nicer that the modern ones. Imagine how many hours it would take to make an entire table setting in tatting. Thank you for sharing.
What a super find and I love the collars those women are wearing.
The tin is lovely, especially with all those little surprises inside ... M x
What a treat - the tin in itself is beautiful but what treasure inside! I had a similar find with a little table if you want to take a peek x
