My elder son got the Rupert the Bear annual every Christmas
and he loved the stories. I probably
meant to knit this for him - needless to say, I never got round to doing so!
Still time, though as the pattern goes up to a 44 inch
chest.
Wonder if he'd want one now (he's in his 20s)?!?! Doubt it!
Love, Liz

Oh how lovely! I like the one with Bill as well. Rupert is perennial, isn't he?
Can you just imagine what your son would say if your presented him with a manly size Rupert Bear jumper?!!!!
I used to love Rupert Bear when I was child, and so did my daughter when she was little.
Memories!
Thanks for sharing Liz!

Our sixty something friend still gets a Rupert annual every Christmas!!!!
Go on! Knit him one....I just adapted my son's favourite Thomas The Tank Engine sweater pattern from when he was 4 to make him a new one and he's 33 now. He wears it too!
This is very sweet - perhaps if he has children of his own, someday, you can knit one then. What a wonderful gift that would be! xo Karen
You might be surprised. They act grown up but they're always little boys inside.
Me too....every Christmas there was Rupert.....wish I'd kept them! :) x
I would make him the sweater. My lot love their silly hats and sweaters still and they are all in their twenties. I think they realize the love and work in making them.
I have this pattern too. I must have got a Rupert the Bear annual when I was very small as I named the small bear my Nana made me Rupert. There is no other way I could have known about him in the hinterland of Canada.
How fantastic Liz, I reckon you should make him it too! Love Linda x
You never know ... irony, and picture sweaters, are all the rage, he might love one ;)
