Violets for the Duchess

Here's a wee Fab Friday Find!

Gorgeous!

Duchess china plate - Violets.  So pretty.

It was a real bargain in the charity shop - not going to moan about them again ... ever!!!  (Till next time, anyway!)

Have to tell you about this fabulous book which I ordered from Amazon and arrived yesterday.

Selina Lake's Homespun Style.
I actually bought it to give as a gift, but just a wee look through it and I know its a keeper - I'll have to buy another copy to give to my friend!  It even smells delicious - I love the smell of new books!  Is that a bit odd?

Here's just one page - had to show this one as I'm in the "thows"(see what I did there?) of a crochet frenzy at the moment!
So, I'm going to sit and read this tonight while sipping a glass of Merlot!  Perhaps I'll even get a bit of crochet done.
Perfect Friday evening.
Hope your Friday is good too.

Love, Liz

Definitely a lovely, lovely plate. The smell of new books is wonderful. The smell of old books too. Not musty, just good clean, old books.

Love the plate - just the shape I like. Totally agree with you re the smell of new books, and the lovely feeling of being the first one to turn the crisp new pages. Having said that, I love old books as well, wondering who read them before me. Don't own a kindle, don't want to.
