Had visitors at the weekend and it was fun to take them around town pointing out local landmarks and telling them a bit of the town's history.
This is the Victoria Tower which is part of Greenock's Municipal Buildings. It is 245ft high and is getting some work done. I could hardly bear to watch these guys working so high up! Don't like heights much! Brave souls!
Some of the stonework and carving is just beautiful!
Is anyone else having problems with uploading photos to their blog-
seems to be very slow -
have noticed this quite a bit recently.
Love, Liz

The little men look as though they are giving the building a wash and scrub with pails of water. I think you need a good head for heights to have a job like that. Rather them than me.
Sometimes I find uploads slow but not all the time and sometimes all my followers disappear and sometimes (!) Blogger won't let me send a message to new followers.

Fantastic pictures, it's lovely to see historic buildings in another part of the country, we have such a rich history.

Bliemy what a long way up - definately not my sort of job - can't work with your eyes tight shut and holding on tight with both hands!!
Lovely stone carvings but as I have no head for heights, just the thought of being up there makes me dizzy!
I'm getting sweaty palms just thinking about it Liz! The older I get the more of a scardy cat I'm becomming...those carvings are magnificent though.
Just looking at these guys makes me a bit dizzy! Hate heights, but admire those who can do these things!
