Oban

Had a lovely day out today, Hubby and I went to Oban.

We travelled from Greenock, across the Erskine Bridge, and up round Loch Lomond to Crianlarich.

Then we travelled across to Tyndrum, and round part of Loch Awe, then on to Oban  - took about three hours - we had a coffee stop, of course!

The weather wasn't too good, but we had a lovely day.

I have never seen so many fish and chip shops in one town, so we decided that we'd have some for lunch.  Unfortunately the rain come on, so we sat in the car to eat our fish supper - yes, one between us - the portions were huge!  Look at the piece of lemon - posh or what?!?!?!?!?!

Hope you had a lovely bank holiday weekend.  I'll share some more photos of Oban tomorrow.

Love, Liz

One of the things I remember the most is the large portions of fish and chips while in England. Here in Utah they really skimp.

Lovely. I adore Fish and chips, they don't exist here in the middle of North America. Looking forward to more pix of Oban. I loved the place when I was there in 1976.

Lovely! I had to call over my husband who just today brought in a new bottle of Oban. He loved seeing the distillery!

You can't beat good fish 'n chips. Our F & C shop still makes their chips by hand - by that I mean they peel the spuds, chop them up etc. They are delicious.

Looked a lovely journey to Oban - we drove round Loch Lomond a year or two ago when in Scotland - is very pretty there.

Thanks for sharing the lovely pics!
